It was very touching to see Our Holy Father serve Mass
by the Sea Of Galilee. |
Our Mass was said in that area with the sea in the
background. To the right of us is The Mount of Beatitudes. Father said
that this Mount has a natural sound system and that is the reason the five
thousand who he preached to namely the eight beatitudes were able to hear him
without any difficulty. They all knew that he performed the miracle of loaves
and fishes. The church of the loaves is just at the bank of the Sea of Galilee.
Click here to see the mosaic of loaves and fishes which is on the floor in front
of the altar.
This is the area where Jesus cooked the telapia fish to feed the apostles.
Telapia is commonly referred to as St. Peter's fish there. Peter was not present
when Jesus cooked the fish. It was possible that Peter feared being rejected
because of denying Jesus.
| There is a statue just outside the Church of
Peter's Privacy. It is of Jesus and Peter where Jesus asked
"Peter, do you love me?" Peter's answer was
"Lord, you know that I love you". Jesus then said
"Feed my lambs". Jesus said to Peter again,
"Peter do you love me?" Peter answered, ":Lord
you know everything, you know that I do." Jesus said
"Feed my sheep." |

"Peter, do you love me?"

The water from the Sea of the Galilee comes just up to the Door of the Church
of the Privacy.
This is all in the Capernaum where Jesus did much of His ministry.
Marcus Grodi, the host of the show
"Journey Home" and his lovely and delightful wife Marilyn participated
in this pilgrimage. When we visited the remains of the Synagogue where Jesus
performed three miracles of healing, Marcus spoke on the Great Catholic Dogma of
The Eucharist. He also told us of his and wife Marilyn's conversion. He credited
Father Mitch Pacwa in being a driving force. Marcus made the statement that he
asked Father if he couldn't make the conversion in a slow process and that
Father Mitch's answer was "well----. Father quickly interrupted by saying
"NO". This was a moving talk. In the end Marilyn said to those around
us. "Marcus always wanted to preach in a synagogue."

St. Peter's House |
Just 200 feet directly across the synagogue are the ruins of
St.
Peter's house. It is authentic. The Archeologists must meet the requirements
with documentation. |
The name of Jesus is written on the wall three times and of
Peter three times also. They uncovered fish hooks and a stove such as the one
Jesus cooked on. This is also where the centurion came to ask Jesus to heal his
servant. He told Jesus that he was not worthy to have Jesus come to his house,
but that Jesus could heal him from where they were standing. Jesus told the
centurion that because of his faith he would find his servant healed.
